Operations Finance Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Management Accountant to work in the Girvan Team. The successful person will provide provision of accurate and timely Operations Management Accounts, including Latest Estimates, Budgets, ACP & 5YP. You will be a key member of the Girvan Leadership Team, and provide financial analysis to support business decision making.

As a vital Leader of the team you will be involved a variety of exciting projects from day one which will include:

  • Lead and deliver month end reporting, in accordance with the Group guidelines ensuring integrity of (and understanding behind) the numbers, to allow business decisions to be made based on complete, accurate and timely information. Propose and deliver improvements as required

  • Delivery of the Budget and LE planning process for Girvan including the development of the Five Year Plan in accordance with Group guidelines. Present Budget and Latest Estimates to Site Leadership teams.

  • Work in partnership the site leadership teams for Girvan to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all capital spend raising challenges and driving course-correction, based on financial and commercial information.

  • Provide financial support, ad hoc analysis and project leadership to highlight challenges or opportunities in delivering operational targets on cost.

  • Implement controls to manage and report on working capital expenditure to drive improved cash flow for the Girvan site.

  • Work closely with other site finance managers to ensure consistent processes are developed and applied, recommending and implementing process improvements where applicable to support achievement of Company Reporting timeline

  • Collate and reconcile all balance sheet accounts within the global function guidelines and timetable, and explain any significant variances to the Distilleries Finance Leader and Finance Operations Director for the Month End review process

  • Act as interface on Grissan, providing decision support, analysis and insight to the Grissan team on models for external and internal projects.   

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Operations Finance team in line with the Company Values to maximise employee engagement. Promote, develop and embed a “one team” approach to Finance in support of the delivery of a Global Finance function.

    Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant with experience in production accounting.
  • Comprehensive experience in technical accounting aspects of cost accounting.
  • Proven leader who can set objectives, performance manage a team and develop individuals to achieve their potential, and also interact across all levels of the business
  • Understanding of financial control and reporting methodologies gained in a manufacturing environment
